Early Childhood Education is our Priority!

RIAC is a Child Development Center that is dedicated to providing the highest quality education for 2  to 5-year-olds. We believe in providing children with emotional support and a physically safe environment that encourages a love for learning through a variety of play experiences. Contact us for more information!

RIAC Child Development Center has adopted the CREATIVE CURRICULUM that is based on the premise that children learn by doing. We believe that your child will discover and learn by making the decisions needed to work through an activity, rather than being told exactly how to accomplish a task. As a result of this process-oriented approach, you will find that no two art projects look the same, and your child will discover many individual approaches to accomplish a task, thus, your child will not be asked or required to complete activities in a specific manner. Rather, we support the interest of each child, helping them to grow in their socio-emotional and cognitive skill development through hands-on experimentation with materials and concepts. Our curriculum is built around ideas of interest to the children. Each day there are opportunities for all children to explore materials and create meaningful experiences. Our emergent curriculum provides opportunities in several basic areas:

  • Language and Literacy: children are encouraged to talk, sing, listen, or otherwise use language and experience written material. Examples are flannel board stories, books, dramatic storytelling, and puppet play.
  • Mathematics Thinking: children are encouraged to develop a sense of number. Examples are activities that include counting, determining more or less, larger or smaller, how many, how much, recognizing patterns, recognizing shapes, and developing a sense of time awareness.
  • Scientific Thinking: children focus on the world they know and understand. Knowledge grows from the child’s innate need to discover. Examples are measuring, comparing, and using the five senses, questioning, predicting and analyzing results.
  • Social Studies: children explore the roles and relationships in their world. Examples are dramatic play; block building; recognizing similarities and differences in people, families, and professions; and understanding the reasons for social expectations.
  • Personal and Social Development: children are encouraged to develop a self-concept and self-control through interacting
  •  with others, problems solving, and conflict resolution.
  • Physical Development: includes large and small motor development and an understanding of personal health and safety.
  • The Arts: encourages children to express their creativity through art, self-expression, dance, music, and dramatic play.

The day is a blend of child-initiated and teacher-initiated activities including group time, choice time, outdoor play, snacks, and rest time.

  • Rainbow in a cloud is a wonderful daycare and the teachers are wonderful. Ms. Angela the director of the school is very caring and she's very respectful towards all the parents. I started my son here when he was 2 1/2 years old and he was given homework packets which really helped him to kick-start his writing skills and prep him for Kindergarten. The packets are not difficult at all and the teachers are very understanding and willing to work with the parents. My son is in Kindergarten now but still goes there after school until he's 6 years old. He loves it there and I feel like the teachers are a part of our family. I would recommend this little spot for all parents. These teachers treat your kids like they're their own. They help him work on homework from his Kindergarten afterschool which is such a big help because I don't pick him up until 5 almost 6 since I work 2 jobs. This preschool has been a blessing for us and so helpful in our lives.

  • As a student of West LA College, I had to do an observation on a child development center. I spoke with Angela (Executive Director) and she agreed to let me do the observation. Of course I told her everything that I was doing, brought her all my documents (for safety purposes) and I was more than ecstatic. The way the center was set up for the children is very much developmentally appropriate. If I was a parent I would not hesitate to bring my children here. The teachers are very friendly and helpful. I love this center and I recommend it to anyone who's looking for a creative center for their children to grow mentally.

  • Rainbow in a Cloud is a center where the children learn how to be kind and courteous to others and the eagerness to learn The school is accompanied with teachers who inspire the children to be our future politicians, doctor ,lawyers policemen, fireman, teachers or whatever they may desire to become. The Director of the center had a passion for children and the preperation for students future to excel to the best they can be is her primary goal and that's why she looks the best staff to accomplish her dream.
